After breakfast at hotel, pick-up from hotel, head to Cai Be in Mekong Delta- the ‘rice bowl’ of Vietnam, the delta is carpeted in a dizzying variety of greens. It’s a water world that moves to the rhythms of the mighty Mekong, where boats, houses and markets float upon the innumerable rivers, canals and streams that criss-cross the landscape like arteries.
You will take a boat trip along one of the small branches of the river to Tan Phong islet. From the boat’s unique vantage point, observe life as it is lived along the river – endless boats both big and small, people working the fields, and brilliant landscapes in every shade of green.
Once at Tan Phong Islet, take a short cycling trip through the villages and fruit gardens, looking out in particular for the red, spiky rambutan with its deliciously sweet flesh, the specialty of the islet. Make stops along the way to visit local cottage industries where families make everything from rice paper and rice flour cakes to roof panels from water coconut fronds and homewares from water hyacinths.
From the islet, travel via rowing sampan through the peaceful, narrow canals, back to the boat where you’ll continue on to the village of Phu An. Your cruise ends at Le Longanier Restaurant, named after the French word for “”longan tree””. Lunch is served in this elegant colonial-style villa set in a lush tropical garden by the river surrounded by fruit trees, giving you a sense of how the privileged class lived in Indochina times.
After lunch, take a short walk along the canal towards Ba Bon Bridge where the the car awaits to drive you back to Can Tho.
Arrival in Azerai Can Tho- a peaceful retreat set on a lush islet on the Hau River and in the Mekong Delta with 60 Rooms and 5 Pool Villas accessible only by boat. Activities at the market are also an occasion for tourists to study the cultural aspects of southerners. You can see the market in the distance; it does not look like much, just a mass of boats. Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.
